Press Release – 26 August 2009
EXPERTS TO SPEAK AT SINGAPORE SYMPOSIUM TO HEED ALBERT EINSTEIN’S CALL FOR ALL HUMANS TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE
"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us “universe”, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." …Albert Einstein
Einstein also said, “The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.”
Taking up this challenge to do something to save Mother Earth is Eco-Harmony Global Network Ltd, a social enterprise of Kampung Senang Charity and Education Foundation.
Eco-Harmony Global Network Ltd has invited over 10 local and overseas experts to speak at The Holistic Wellness Symposium on 11 and 12 September at the Quality Hotel to share their views, experiences and ideas on Healing Self, Healing Communities and Healing Mother Earth.
These experts, hailing from countries such as China, Japan, Malaysia, Australia and Singapore, some of whom are international holistic medical specialists and practitioners, include:
Despite differences in backgrounds and expertise, all of them have come from one very strong belief that the Symbiotic Relationship between Man and the Universe is at peril caused by modernization, and perhaps human ignorance.
Madam Joyce Lye, co-founder of Kampung Senang Charity and Education Foundation said, “We believe this Holistic Wellness Symposium is the first of its kind in Singapore to gather international experts who have had extensive experiences and successes in practicing and implementing holistic solutions to treat modern day diseases and to heal Mother Earth. The Symposium is also timely and well positioned to encourage more Singaporeans to “Go Green”, not only for the sake of protecting the environment but also to raise awareness on the importance of healthy lifestyle and habits. Healthy and Holistic Living has come a long way in gaining recognition for its successes as alternative solutions for today’s chronic degenerative diseases”
Kampung Senang Charity and Education Foundation has been at the forefront in promoting healthy organic vegetarian eating and healthy lifestyles in Singapore. It pioneered this movement since its establishment 10 years ago, with the mission. “Care for People, Care for Environment”.
The Foundation believes that by empowering people with the right knowledge (from some of the best in the world) everyone will be able to make the right decisions concerning their own health and those of their loved ones. By so doing, they would also be playing a significant part to Heal the Earth.
There are several compassionate and selfless individuals in our midst who have been quietly doing their part in championing Holistic Lifestyles and Habits in partnership with Kampung Senang. To acknowledge their contribution, they will each receive a Certificate from Madam Cynthia Phua, Member of Parliament for Aljunied GRC, the Guest of Honour for the Holistic Wellness Symposium.
Madam Phua will grace the Symposium on 11 September and represent all Singaporeans in giving recognition to these unsung heroes. They include:
The Holistic Wellness Symposium is an excellent forum for everyone interested to take charge of their own health. Whilst conventional medicine has its role to play, many people are going back to their roots, in search of complementary solutions; seeking and reviving traditional wisdom and knowledge on alternative holistic healing methods used by our forefathers.
In its effort to empower more people with the latest knowledge about alternative and holistic healing methods, the organizer of this 2-day international Holistic Wellness Symposium is selectively offering some tickets at very highly subsidized rates.
Eco-Harmony Global Network Ltd announced that the following 2 persons may attend the two full days at a special rate of $160 per pair:
Tickets are priced normally at $300, covering two healthy vegetarian luncheons and four tea-breaks during the 2-full day event. This special promotion is aimed at making such practical and important knowledge more accessible to those with immediate needs and to the younger generation; to bring home the message that “Prevention is Better than Cure”. This adage is applicable not only to individuals but also to Mother Earth.
In order to reach out to our Mandarin speaking audience there will be a Healthy Lifestyle Practicum session run concurrently with the Symposium, in another room at the Quality Hotel. This one and a half day session on “Organic Tempeh Making and Vegetarian Cooking Secrets”, “Super Charging with Raw Energy” and “Mighty Cereal Grains” will be conducted by well-known vegetarian culinary expert, Mr Oh Chong Fah. Registrants will enjoy one lunch and 3 tea breaks.
